Privacy policy

The short version

• The website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie is a security cookie from our host, Cloudflare.
• We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies.
• If you send us the demo form or an email, we use it to reply. We don't sell it, and we don't add you to a mailing list without asking.
• The FirmForge desktop products run on your firm's computers. Your client data is never sent to us.

Who we are

Approachable Systems LLC, a Maryland company, operates thefirmforge.com and makes the FirmForge products. For anything about this policy or your information, email info@thefirmforge.com.

What the website collects

Hosting and security

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for.

Cloudflare's bot protection may set one cookie, cf_clearance, which lasts up to a year. It records that your browser passed a check for automated traffic, so you aren't checked again. It isn't used for advertising or to follow you to other sites, and page scripts can't read it.

Visit counts

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It uses no cookies and doesn't build a profile of you or follow you across sites.

No third-party content

The site's pages, images, and typeface are all served from thefirmforge.com. Apart from Cloudflare, which hosts the site and provides the visit counts above, your browser doesn't contact any outside service, such as Google, to show you a page.

Nothing stored in your browser

Apart from the security cookie above, the site stores nothing in your browser.

When you contact us

When you use the demo request form, we receive your name, work email, firm, the product you're interested in, and any message you add. The site sends it to our inbox as an email through Cloudflare's email service; the website itself doesn't keep a copy. When you write to info@thefirmforge.com directly, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and your message, and Cloudflare's email routing service forwards it to our inbox. We use it to reply, to arrange a demo, and to keep a record of our conversation with your firm. We keep it for as long as it's useful for that relationship, and we'll delete it if you ask.

The FirmForge desktop products

FirmForge products are Windows applications that run on your firm's computers. They connect directly to the services your firm already licenses (Clio, HubSpot, Google Drive and Sheets, the Anthropic Compliance API, and the Nomorobo Enterprise API), using your firm's own credentials. The matters, contacts, and results they handle go between your firm's computers and those services. None of it is sent to Approachable Systems.

FirmForge Conflict checks our update server for new versions. Like any download, that request shows our server your IP address and which version you have.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent personal information.
• We don't use advertising networks or tracking pixels.
• We don't share your information except with the service providers named on this page, or where the law requires it.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@thefirmforge.com.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, though Cloudflare may ask you to complete a check more often.

Children

The site and products are for law firms and their staff. They aren't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
